no recovery possible for neither mouse nor keyboard function - plz HELP

Hi There,

I use StorageCraft ShadowProtect Desktop Version 5.2.3.37285
I use Win 7 Home Premium Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
64 bit.

Recovery CD I have successfully created and burned.
I want to recover my system c:/
System boots successfully from CD and Recovery environment is successful
loaded. Unfortunately, I can make, however, already in the choice of language no selection
more active, as neither mouse nor keyboard function - not later: - /

What am I doing wrong ? Thank you for your help!

Retention Help

For some reason, my retention settings are not being acted on.  I currently have 18 versions stored when it should be 5.  Any help would be appreciated.  Attached is the settings for the only back up job I have store.

VNC program in Rebuilder Flagged by Antivirus

I am using Kaspersky Internet Security as my antivirus program.   I ran a full scan this weekend, and KIS flagged a number of files as "legitimate program but can be used to gain control of your computer." KIS keeps giving me warnings to resolve these hits.

 sicherung auf externe 2 tera Festplatte.

 wie erreiche ich dass ShadowProtect nicht eine Fehlermeldung sendet ( F: nicht genügend Speicher. )

 

sondern vortlaufend , ältere Dateien überschreibt  ?

SP not finding the image

I just did a cold image using the Recovery Cross Platform disk for SP 5 and have 2 mysteries.  The image was done to an external HD and can be seen in the recovery console as well as in the installed version when using Explore Backup. 

Strangely enough my internal harddrive that has the majority of my images did not show up when using the recovery cd?  What am I doing wrong?

edit:  Just used a different recovery cd - and this worked fine. I guess I will stick with that one.

I am using SP 5.0.4.27363 on Win 7 / 64 bit.

Very Large Incrementals After Windows 10 Clean Installation /w Mozy Also Running

I have been using SPD for at least five years but I may have missed something after I did a clean installation of Windows 10 Professional to my desktop.  I have been trying to figure out what is causing such large incremental files and runtimes for SPD, something that didn't happen before the clean installation of Windows 10, and the re-installation of SPD.

Recovery Environment Builder

Is there any chance (or any way to do this presently) - can REB once started, include an "option" to "save" the info from the ADK into REB.  What I think would be nice would be to:

1) Install ADK

2) Run REB - select "Tools""Save ADK Files"

3) De-install ADK

From this point on, REB would use its save copies of the req'd ADK files

For the sole reason of needing WinPE from the ADK, it would be prefereable not to have to leave ADK installed only because REB would be executed every so often when a new RE is released.

RE problems seeing my backup drive

My mainboard is an ASUS P6X58D-E, and the backup disk is connected to Intel AHCI X58 ICH10R disk controller.  I have no problem backing up to it, but when I try to restore using RE, the disk shows up with a 128 MB unrecognized partition, a 2.2 TB partition which gets drive letter C:, and the whole disk is listed as 7?? GB.

Slow network backups

Ok I'm running Win7 x64, Shadowprotect Desktop latest version, connecting to a QNAP TS-509 Pro over Gigabit ethernet. When I set this up 1-2 years ago for automated backups, was getting transfer rates of about 80-90 MBytes/sec, saturating the Gigabit link. Now lately, I have been only getting about 20 MBytes/sec and I'm not sure why.

 

(1) If I just transfer a large file (use windows explorer to copy a file) from the PC to the NAS, I get about 80-90 MB/sec. Same if I copy from NAS to PC.

OS:  Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit

My system is SSD C:/ drive that holds the programs and a HDD E:/ drive that holds data.  All backups go to a USB external HDD.  The whole thing has been squirrely for the past week, but now I am getting a failure to backup on both drives. 

The C: drive backs does a full backup every Sunday and does incrementals Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  The E: drive does a full back up once a month and also does incrementals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Trying to mount- Get "H: Is not accessible"

Hi, I am using Shadow Protect 3.5.2.5266.

I had a windwos 10 crash, and cannot get the system to restore.

So I have formatted the drive and installed woindows 7 pro.

So at this point I am just trying to "image mount " so I can get some of the backed up files.

BUT.. everytime I try to ,mount a drive windwos states" H; is not accessible"& "The media is write protected"

I have 2 large drives for files that are writtable, an an SSD for the system.

ANy ideas?

Dell Optiplex 9020 AHCI drivers?

I built the latest recovery environment only to discover that my AHCI-mode SSD was restoring at 1 MB/s (19 hour estimate). I also tried integrating drivers from the DELL driver page but cannot seem to find an AHCI-mode driver that makes any difference. In a second attempt I got as high as 10 MB/s but that was 3+ hours to restore. When I switched the BIOS to ATA mode and restored, I was averaging 56 MB/s.

Dual booting

I install a new OS several times, along with a suite of additinoal software, and test.  When I am satisfied that the complete install is clean, I declare it production.  During this time, I am dual booting with the previous production OS, where SP/SPX is running/licensed.  I am now installing/testing W10 on one of my machines, dual booting with W7.   W7 has SP installed.  W10 will have SPX installed.  To prevent corrupting my W7 incremental chain, W10 does not access any W7 partition that is part of the W7 incremental chain job.  But I

Corrupt images?

Lost everything! Primary and my backup drive!  After reinstalling a fresh copy of windows. I used several  recovery programs (Recuva and Data Rescue PC3) I was able to recover a couple of  .SPF images off my backup drive. However when I try to mount the .SPF images to see if they (images) were okay. I get this message: "error code:-1392 (0xFFFFFA90) Error Description Specified file is either invalid or Corrupt" Please tell me that there has got to be away around this?!

StorageCraft Recovery Environment (Linux-based) crashes as virtual media in Intel vPro

Both the 32- and 64-bit Storagecraft Recovery Environment ISOs crash in an Intel vPro environment when they are virtually mounted ISOs on a DELL Optiplex 9020. The crash happens about 45 seconds after booting. These ISOs, when booted from CD-ROM at the machine, work fine. On the other hand, the PE Recovery Environment Builder ISO works fine when mounted virtually, but obviously we want the RE ISOs to work too, so I will share the crash errors here.

Error message when trying to open database from backup archive…

Dear forum members:

Been using Shadow Protect for about a year now. After a colleague lost a hard drive, he found his backup was not performing correctly. So had been investigating my Shadow Protect backups. Basically I do a full backup of a flash drive, then do incremental backups at the end of each day.
